My favorite project we did this year in math was the shape project. I liked this one the most because I like learning about shapes. For this project my partner was Austin Berger. We chose to do a baseball field. Each base we had was a shape. It had to be a quadrilateral. A quadrilateral is a shape with 4 sides. It is a closed shape and all together it equals 360˚. I think I could use this in my everyday life if I ever need to tile something. I will know what shapes go together like triangles, squares, and regular hexagons.
I also liked learning about shapes and designs. I like reflection and rotation symmetry. Rotation is if you rotate any shape a full turn, it will look like it did before you rotated it. Reflection symmetry has two halves that are mirror images of each other. That’s why I like learning about shapes. Math is very important thing in life if you ever want to be a mechanic you need to know your math. Also another job that involves math if you ever want to be a tile person, you need to know which tiles go together right. You also need to know math if you are going shopping and you have a coupon for 40% off you need to know your percentages.
Things I think I could have done better this year were problems when there’s more than one step. One example is a word problem when you have to solve one step to get the other. That’s what I think I could have done better this year.
